TANKROM^® OBM

Tankrom^® OBM is a new-age self-basifying basic chromium sulphate. There is no need for any basification agent for chrome tanning process.

Tankrom^® OBM which is produced to minimize the defects emerging from basification, offers the following benefits for leather:

Encourages chromium exhaustion by organic masking agents.

As Tankrom^® OBM contains basification agent, basification process is not necessary and current controls are not required.

Saves time and labour.

Makes chrome tanning process easy.

Gives good fullness, bright color.

A uniform leather quality is obtained.

APPLICATION

Tankrom^® OBM is added directly into the drum in powder form. Tankrom^® OBM is recommended to be used 6-10% on pelt weight for main tanning for pickled hide and skin whose pH is 2.8-3.0 and 15-25 g/L for main tanning for pickled double-face (fur) whose pH is also 2.8-3.0.

After adding Tankrom^® OBM, drum should be run without waiting.
Using paddle is not suitable for self-basifying system.

For successful chrome tanning, some tanning conditions such as bath length, bath temperature, basification and tanning time are important besides the type and amount of basic chromium sulphate used.

Some of our advices are as follows:

Low bath length should be preferred as much as possible, in order to accelerate penetration and to raise final temperature and chrome exhaustion.

Since penetration is encouraged by low bath temperature; starting temperature of tanning should be 15-20 OC and temperature should be raised gradually to 35-40OC at the end of the chrome tanning by
mechanical action or heating system of the drum.

Drum should be run at least 8-10 hours continuously. As no special supervision is required, the chrome tannage may be allowed to proceed automatically during the evening and night hours.

At the end of tanning, drum should be drained and rinsed with warm water approximately 15 minutes.

PACKAGING

25 kg inner layer polyethylene, outer layer polypropylene woven bags; palletized, shrink wrapped.

STORAGE CONDITIONS

Store in cool and dry places. Keep away from sunlight and heat sources.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Harmful effect on skin and eye. After contact with skin and eye wash immediately with water. Avoid breathing the dust.
